3 Pillars of MJCA Athletics
1. To Think – We believe athletics is another form of learning, therefore we endeavor to teach character, responsibility and accountability, teamwork and preparedness. We do this while reinforcing the lessons student athletes are learning at home, as well as in the classroom, in order to challenge them to think with a Biblical worldview in every situation.
2. To Lead – We believe it is our primary goal as an athletic department to minister to each student we coach, especially those who may not be reached by another other means. We strive to lead by example and work toward the goal of helping our student-athletes grow to know Christ in a more personal way as they become disciples who make disciples.
3. To Live as Christians – We believe in striving for excellence in everything we do, including athletics. We require our student athletes to be committed to being the best competitor, teammate, student, and Jesus follower they can be by leading a life that is worthy of the high calling of Christ.
From the Athletic Director
Mt. Juliet Christian Academy strives to develop a well-rounded student. We hope to provide a wide range of opportunities in the areas of academics, athletics, spiritual development, and fine arts that support our overall mission to partner with families in developing students to think, lead, and live as Christians based on a Biblical worldview.
The athletic program at Mount Juliet Christian Academy is an integral part of the educational process. Its purpose is to encourage individual physical fitness, develop a knowledge and appreciation of sports and learn athletic skills, cultivate good sportsmanship and teamwork, instill Christian character, teach life skills, and use all gifts to the glory of God.
In a larger sense, the goal of the program is to provide experiences for individuals to help them become self-disciplined, loyal, and cooperative. We believe these character qualities are necessary for success in any endeavor in life. All of our student-athletes are considered to be in a leadership position and must demonstrate attitudes and actions that are consistent with the standards of excellence at Mount Juliet Christian Academy and the MJCA Athletic Program.
The ultimate goal of the Athletic Department is to work within the mission of the school to teach young men and women valuable lessons that will make them more successful and productive followers of Jesus Christ in our school and community.
