Middle School

Middle School (6th-8th grade) is a unique time of development mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually. Students in grades 6-8 are experiencing rapid growth and change in so many areas that it makes connecting with this group of students an interesting opportunity for creativity and special focus on their needs. Because of this reality, MJCA has developed this division of the school with its own chapels, fine arts, sports, mission trips, and electives that are separate from the high school program.

Due to the complex transition from pre-adolescence to adolescence, the middle school program places a high priority on staffing with educators committed to this age group. All areas of development-spiritual, academic, physical, and social and moral-are included in the middle school program. The achievement of academic success with young adolescents, for example, is highly dependent upon other developmental needs being met. The middle school curriculum is challenging, integrative, and exploratory.

Core Subjects Include:

  • Bible
  • Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • History

Related Exploratory Classes Include:

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • Art
  • Chorus
  • Band
  • Drama
  • Writing & Grammar
  • Choices (Leadership)

From the moment a student enters MJCA's middle school program, they are met with enthusiasm and experience to help them develop into Christ-centered, disciplined students who demonstrate a character that is reflective of Jesus Christ. While we strive to give them the academic tools necessary to accomplish as much as possible in these formative years, we also invest a great deal of focused attention in helping them inculcate the truth of God's Word into their everyday lives that they may:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength... Love your neighbor as yourself..." - Mark 12:30-31

High school

"The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you." - Philippians 4:9

MJCA is committed to building Kingdom Leaders in every facet of our school. We offer challenging courses and curriculum while ministering to the whole person mind, body and spirit. It is our prayer that MJCA will be a source to help students find out God's plan for their lives.

The high school (9th-12th grade) program builds on the sound spiritual and academic foundations laid through the elementary and middle programs of the school system. Instructional emphasis is organized in the areas of Bible, English, foreign language, mathematics and computer science, physical education, science, history, art, drama, band, and chorus.

The instructional program is amplified through practical opportunities for the development of leadership, service, special interests, and academic enrichment through student organizations and sports teams for boys and girls. An award-winning fine arts program - including band, choir, drama productions, and visual art - enhances the total educational experience at MJCA. A guidance center provides academic and personal counseling for students and their parents; career information; a testing program; and college materials.
