Middle School is a unique time of development mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. Students in grades 6, 7 & 8 are experiencing rapid growth and change in so many areas that it makes connecting with this group of students an interesting opportunity for creativity and special focus on their needs. Because of this reality, MJCA has developed this division of the school with its own chapels, fine arts, sports, mission trips, and electives that are separate from the high school program.
Due to the complex transition from pre-adolescence to adolescence, the middle school program places high priority on staffing with educators committed to this age group. All areas of development-spiritual, academic, physical, and social and moral-are included in the middle school program. The achievement of academic success with young adolescents, for example, is highly dependent upon other developmental needs being met. The middle school curriculum is challenging, integrative, and exploratory.

In addition to the core classes offered at the middle school level, our eighth grade students take physical science, which is usually not offered until the freshman year. For our higher achieving students, our honors program begins in the 8th grade. At this level, qualified students may opt to take Algebra I as they prepare to progress toward the higher level math classes in high school.
From the moment a student enters MJCA's middle school program, they are met with enthusiasm and experience to help them develop into Christ-centered, disciplined students who demonstrate a character that is reflective of Jesus Christ. While we strive to give them the academic tools necessary to accomplish as much as possible in these formative years, we also invest a great deal of focused attention in helping them inculcate the truth of God's Word into their everyday lives that they may,
