Attendance

When a student is absent from school, a parent must contact attendance@mjca.org or download the MJCA app and fill out the attendance form by 8:30 AM to inform the school of the child’s absence.

A K-5th grade student is tardy to school if they are not in their assigned classroom by 7:45 AM Monday through Friday. After 8:05 AM without parent notification, an Upper School student is considered tardy.

Even though a parent may call the school, an e-mail must also be sent to the school. The email shall include the reason for the absence, the date of the absence, and a phone number. For extended absences, regular e-mail communication is required. It is not the responsibility of the school to track down excuses from students.

After the first day back at school, absences will become unexcused if an e-mail has not been received by the school. Excused absences include illness, death of a family member or close relative, medical or dental appointments, participation in a school- sponsored activity, court or administrative proceedings, or an absence excused with the administration’s prior permission.

Uniforms

Students K-12 wear uniforms Monday—Thursday. Fridays are spirit wear days and students can wear jeans (please refer to Parent/Student Handbook located on Parentsweb for more details).

Max and Alice is MJCA's exclusive uniform supplier.

All school uniforms must be purchased from Max and Alice.

Lunch Information

Tuition Management / Billing

We use FACTS to manage both our tuition plans and our incidental billing for students. Incidental billing is for any fee outside of tuition such as clubs, after school study hall, athletic fees, secondary field trips, Extended Care or Holiday Care programs, etc. Each family is required to have both of these accounts and they must be set up in FACTS through Parentsweb by clicking on Financial Home. You can choose auto draft payments and payment methods for each account separately. All fees are invoiced by FACTS to your email with at least 10 days notice, even if they are set up to autodraft.

As of June 2025, MJCA accepts the State of Tennessee's Educational Freedom Scholarship (EFS). Qualifying and interested families will have a brief meeting during our Back to School Bash on July 31 around 4:30 PM in the Worship Center to learn more about how MJCA will be partnering with families for this exciting opportunity.
