Middle School Drama
Beginning Drama is led by Kimberly Overstreet and is offered to 8th grade students 2 times a week for two semesters. The goal of beginning drama is to introduce students to a general knowledge and a beginning application of theater from a Christian worldview.
High School Drama
Theater Appreciation is offered to 9th grade students 2 times a week for two semesters. Students learn the fundamentals of theater history, acting techniques and terminology, script analysis, improvisation and participate in several performances throughout the school year.
Advanced Drama meets every day for two semesters. Preresquite: Beginning Drama or Theater Appreciation. Students learn and actively participate in all aspects of theater from performance onstage to behind-the-scenes technical, costume and makeup design. Additionally, students are required to participate in productions each semester as a member of the cast or stage crew. Productions include a drama in the fall and full-scale musical theater production in the spring. Past Productions include It's a Wonderful Life, You Can't Take It With You, The Matchmaker, Guys and Dolls, Singin’ in the Rain, Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, Anything Goes, and Annie Get Your Gun.
