Application Process

STEP 1:

Complete the online MJCA New Student Application through our website, mjca.org, under the Admissions section. Please be sure to read ALL instructions on the application to understand the process. The non-refundable Application Fee is paid online to submit the application.

STEP 2:

Gather supplemental application forms required to complete your application. A list of required forms is on the Application Checklist you will see in your online New Student Application. YOUR APPLICATION IS NOT CONSIDERED COMPLETE UNTIL ALL FORMS ARE SUBMITTED. It is the parent's responsibility to provide all paperwork, not your current school. We will request an official records request only after the student has been interviewed and accepted. Here’s what you will need:

Pre-K & Kindergarten Students:
  • Copy of CERTIFIED birth certificate
  • Copy of immunization record (on TN State school form)

1st - 5th Grade Students:
  • Copy of certified birth certificate
  • Copy of immunization record (on TN State school form)
  • Copy of most recent report card
  • Copy of any standardized test scores (TCAP, Stanford Achievement, etc.)
  • Elementary teacher recommendation form
  • Custodial documentation (if applicable)

6th - 12th Grade Students:

STEP 3:

Submit ALL supplemental application forms to the Admissions office. Forms can be dropped off at the school office, or scanned and emailed to Renee Reed at rreed@mjca.org. You will be able to log on to the checklist on your application to see which forms have been received. Again, student applications are not considered complete and you will not be in line for a spot until ALL required paperwork has been received by the Admissions office.

STEP 4:

Schedule and complete the Family Interview. You will receive instructions on how to schedule your Family Interview after all supplemental application forms are received by the Admissions office.

NOTE: Parents, please do NOT withdraw your student from their current school until they have been interviewed AND you have received an acceptance notification from MJCA. Otherwise, your student will be considered truant from their current school.

Acceptance notifications are sent via email.
