School Supervisory Committee
Mt. Juliet Christian Academy, as a ministry of First Baptist Church, is supported by the School Supervisory Committee. The school supervisory committee is responsible for evaluating the head of school as related to following school policies. The committee does not make decisions regarding the day to day operations of leading the academy, as those decisions are made by the head of school and administrative team.

My wife Diana and I have been married since 1998. We have five beautiful children. Joshua, Brittany, Katelyn, Benjamin, and Abigale. We are very thankful for Christian education, so much that we have had all five of our children attend a Christian academy. When we sent our first son, Joshua, to Ross Corners Christian Academy, we truly did not know how we could afford it, but now 25 years later we would not have changed a thing. We now know that Christian education is not simply paying another bill, but instead we are investing in the lives of our children as they enter the world outside our home with a biblical world view. We moved to Nashville in July 2010 and entered Katie, Ben, and Abbie into MJCA. Both Katie and Ben have graduated from MJCA, and Abbie is currently a Junior at the academy. I have served on the SSC committee now for five years and have been the Chairman of the committee since January 2018.
Both Diana and I love serving at First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet and love MJCA!
My wife, Brandi, and I have been married since 2008. We have two beautiful daughters, Kaylie (August 2011) and Mollie (March 2015). I like to joke that I am best known as Brandi’s husband or Kaylie’s and Mollie’s dad. We became a part of the MJCA family in 2014 when Kaylie enrolled in preschool. We quickly realized the immeasurable value and impact of God-centered, Kingdom-focused education. It is my hope and prayer to support and further this mission as a part of the MJCA School Supervisory Committee. In addition to the MJCA SSC, I currently serve FBCMJ as a deacon, small group leader, and Rutland Place trustee. During the “nine to five,” I am a certified public accountant, working as a tax manager with a public accounting firm in Nashville.
I am married to Dr. Andre Olivier for over 21 years. We have three wonderful children Preston, Ethan, and Jeanne Olivier. All three attend Mt. Juliet Christian Academy. Preston is in 10th grade, Ethan in 9th grade, and Jeanne 8th grade. Our church home is the First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet. I have assisted with Vacation Bible School and outside ladies Bible studies. For three years I worked with the Volunteers in Partnership at the school. I graduated from the University of New Orleans in Pre-Law with a minor in Paralegal, and I currently work as a Real Estate Investor.
My name is James McDonnell. I have been connected to MJCA since 2001 when my daughter entered Kindergarten. Soon after, through our presence at MJCA, I began to attend First Baptist Church with my family and was baptized in January of 2005. Our daughter graduated from MJCA and Tennessee Technological University; our son is an elementary school student at MJCA. I graduated from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.
Additionally, I held a graduate assistantship for three semesters at DSU as a candidate for a Master of Arts degree in English Literature. I mention that because literature, and the works of our culture in general, have remained important to me. The cornerstone of all of that is Christ and Christianity; we can’t forget that. I have worked for twenty-nine years for the Office of the District Attorney General in Nashville, where I am currently the Deputy Director of Finance & Operations.
I have been married to my husband, Henry, for 50 years. We are the proud parents of two adult sons and the proud grandparents of three grandchildren. Our careers had us moving often, but I was always involved in the churches we joined. I have taught Sunday School to elementary, middle, and high school children. I have been director of the children’s division of Sunday School; I have sung in the choir, and I have been activities director for the Fifty Plus group of adults. I am also a certified Sunday School teacher through the Lifeway curriculum. Here at FBCMJ, I taught second grade Sunday school for eight years, and I am now teaching the GED class on Wednesday evenings. I am a retired teacher/ administrator with 35 years in education. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Education as a reading specialist. I was voted as a Teacher of the Year in two different school systems and a finalist for National Teacher of the Year. Currently, I volunteer my time and talents to many different organizations here in Mt. Juliet. I was recently a member of the Wilson County Board of Education, and I am now serving on the MJCA School Supervisory Committee.
