Our goals are to help every student and their family feel like a part of the MJCA family through after school socials like Pump It Up and upcoming Math/Game Nights, to get pertinent school information out to our families, to help teachers through Room Parent coordination and other areas of volunteerism, to appreciate our teachers through events like Teacher Appreciation Day and holiday dinners, to promote MJCA in our surrounding community, and to raise money to provide some of the extras that enhance life here at MJCA. Here are some ways you can support your MJCA PTO: Volunteers are always appreciated! If there are any events you would like to help with or areas of support that you can offer us, please contact any of the PTO Officers listed above. There are also volunteer forms in the PTO cabinet in the MJCA business office. Come to after school events like the Pump It Up socials, Math/Game Nights, and Chick-fil-A's MJCA Spirit Night. These events will be announced in the Friday Newsletter, on the Edline school calendar, and often through notes sent home in your child's classroom. Answer your Room Parent's requests for help. In the elementary grades, Room Parents are trying to coordinate one lunch duty per week to be covered for the teachers. Classroom parties, special events, and field trips often need coverage. Support PTO's fundraisers: Our largest fundraiser this year is the SHOPPING EXTRAVAGANZA on Friday, November 2, 2007. We will have over 50 vendors selling specialty items, PLUS a silent auction with items like a Vince Young signed football, an Epiphone Les Paul guitar, a guitar signed by John Rich of Big & Rich, and much, much more. We will also have a bake sale that our parents are contributing to. Please come to this event and invite all your friends! Spirit Store - the students AND their parents love to wear the MJCA logo wear. Spirit Store dates will be announced in the Friday newsletter and on Edline. Kroger Cards - Get a FREE Kroger Card linked to MJCA from the school business office. Use your Kroger Card to pay for groceries AND gas. MJCA PTO receives up to 4% of your total amount spent. You must present the card BEFORE checking out. Please note your Kroger Cares card does NOT qualify for this program. This program continues all year around, even in the summer months! Collect Box Tops for Education. These are the little squares on products like Kleenex, Betty Crocker baked goods, cereals, and Ziploc bags. Each Box Top is worth a dime. Just cut or rip them off and leave them with your child's teacher or in the PTO Box in the business office. Throughout the school year, we will have competitions by grade to raise the most money with Box Tops. Publix Cards - Pick up a Publix card from the school business office. Just hand it to the cashier when you buy your groceries from Publix and MJCA gets a percentage of the sale. Your MJCA PTO welcomes your input and suggestions for improving our service to MJCA families. Thank you to our MANY volunteers!
