Effective school, home, and community communication is extremely important to providing a quality education. We realize that communicating effectively requires providing timely information. Using our website as a vehicle for this information has taken a giant leap forward with a new service we are providing through Edline. This service provides the school the opportunity to connect the Internet to our student information system using a highly secure connection. Teachers, administration, and staff can all participate in maintaining information posted to this powerful web service. We invite guests to visit Edline as much of this information does not require a login to view. Here are some of the benefits that parents and students enjoy from this source of information:

Check your child's latest grades through progress reports sent right from teacher's computer grade books.
Receive email alerts automatically when new progress reports are posted.
Receive emails with school or class information.
View a personalized 'Combined Calendar' to see all the events from the school calendar that apply to the students own classes and activities.
Obtain handouts, weekly class agendas, power point presentations etc. provided by teachers on each of their class sites.
Read daily announcements, lunch menus, school policies, and classroom news.
View team game schedules, practice schedules, and announcements.

Activating an Edline Account

Obtain an activation code from Mrs. Amy Hammer by phone (615-758-2427) or email
ahammer@mjca.org
1. Open the Internet browser from the toolbar located on the MJCA Home Page.
2.  Locate the words Click here if you have a new activation code and click to begin.
3.  Type in your code and press the Enter button.
4.  On the new screen, click the button that says Activate this code.
5.  At the bottom of the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use page click the button that says I Agree.
6.  On the new screen, click the button that says New Account. If you have other children at MJCA, select this option and enter your screen name and password to connect all accounts. This is all you should have to do, you can skip the remaining steps. The child you are activating an account for should now show up in your shortcuts list in the top left corner.
7.  You will be asked to create a screen name and password, follow the onscreen instructions to do so, then click the Continue button.
8.  Enter your email account and make sure Yes is selected in the buttons below it. You may leave this area blank but if you forget your password or screen name you will not be able to do the online help. You can call Mrs. Amy Hammer (615-758-2427) if you forget your screen name and/or password and are not able to do this online.
9.  Type in a security question which will be asked if you forget your password. When you are done, click the Update button.
10.  The next page is the Help page. Click Done (top right corner) to get to your main screen.
